Mastery Lessons

Dear Friends,

I’m really enjoying the interactions with our Gold Savvy Club members for the new Mastery Lesson DVDs we’re doing. Pat does a lesson with his Mastery students, and I do a discussion/problem solving session I call “Ask Linda." It’s great to be able to talk to actual members while they are here at the Parelli Campus. I can ask them questions, talk about and demonstrate answers – often with simulations – and they often bring up questions that many others students have, too.

Mastery

Dear Friends,

Pat’s and my definition of mastery is “doing simple things well.” You can saddle with mastery, bridle with mastery, mount with mastery, play the Seven Games with mastery, handle your reins with mastery, etc., etc. Mastery is not exclusively about doing high-level maneuvers like flying changes or slide stops. In fact, if you don’t master the simple things first, the high-performance things will always de difficult or substandard. True mastery is about what you do with your horse in every moment: how you communicate, how you move, how you touch, how you plan, how you adjust.

A Visit To Pagosa

Dear Friends,

Pat and I spent a good part of last week at our head office in Pagosa Springs. It's so beautiful at this time of year…covered in snow, brilliant sunshine and those gorgeous mountain peaks towering over us. Pat recorded a few more clips to the problem-solving series for our new website and two audio CDs for Silver & Gold members while I worked on the final edit of Mastery Manual 12, among other things. We then recorded our teleseminar, which is always fun. Neil always has provocative questions in store!

The UK Gold Summit

We arrived for our UK Gold Summit on a cold but blue-sky morning.  Somewhat better than the previous week had been!  But it was still too cold to be outside and we decided to make this an indoor event.  Pat and I had been talking about it and felt we should start with a debrief of the Celebration on the weekend.  We asked for highlights - and there were plenty!  Then questions regarding the event itself.
