Four days of equine action and excitement!
Parelli Natural Horsemanship will have a large booth at Equitana Sydney in the Riverina Pavilion, one of three pillarless, air-conditioned exhibition pavilions for what Equitana describes as, “the greatest equine shopping experience in the Southern Hemisphere!”
Parelli staff and volunteers will be on hand at the exhibition pavilion to answer questions about Parelli Natural Horsemanship, as well as help with equipment questions. Parelli Professionals Sam Caporn and Carmen Smith will present Parelli demos on two separate days of the event. (Demo schedule coming soon.)

Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park will host EQUITANA’s debut in N.S.W. from 10th-13th November and the new event format promises even more excitement over the four days.
The inaugural EQUITANA Sydney Competition program will see the launch of the “Australian Grand Final”, the pinnacle of Australian equestrian competition. Equestrian Australia has joined forces with EQUITANA to develop a national annual grand final for Dressage, Jumping and the new and thrilling, Exhibition Eventing competition. This series will showcase the ‘best of the best’, with nearly 50 of the top Dressage, Jumping and Eventing riders from around the country competing.
EQUITANA Sydney will also feature the “EQUITANA Australian Open”, which incorporates the action-packed Australian national finals for Reining, Cutting and Campdrafting, showcasing the “best of the best” in those disciplines. These two series bring the exhilaration and pace of elite competition to Sydney, with the best Australian and International riders competing for substantial prize pools.
In addition to the two major competition series, visitors can also enjoy the action of Indoor Carriage Driving Championships with special guest competitor, Boyd Exell, Trick Riding, Barrel Racing, Mounted Games, Obstathon Carriage Driving competitions and also Arabian, Show Horse and Rider Championships.
EQUITANA’s extensive Sydney Education Program will feature over 200 informative and insightful educational sessions. Our overseas guests include: – Dutch superstars, Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud will present the Specialist Dressage Clinic together; the amazing Reining champion, Stacy Westfall (USA) who will deliver the Specialist Horsemanship Clinic, the renowned Bobby Ingersoll (USA) who will share his wealth of knowledge in the Cutting Masterclass and gold medal winning carriage driver, Boyd Exell, who will provide sound advice in his Carriage Driving Masterclass.
Parelli Horsemanship Trainers, Carmen Smith and Sam Caporn will be presenting sessions on Friday 11th Nov at 1.00pm and Sunday 13th Nov at 12.00pm (respectively) and you can chat to them at the Parelli stand (no 307) in the Riverina Pavilion.
Another remarkable feature of the Sydney event, will be the new 3-day, Hawkesbury Saddlery “Way of the Horse – Horsemanship Challenge”, the ultimate demonstration of the techniques used by three of the best horse trainers in Australia, when starting a young horse. To date Dan Maloney and David Manchon have been confirmed as two of the trainers participating. In this electrifying challenge, all three trainers are given unhandled horses – trucked directly from the paddock and loaded straight into roundpens in the arena to ensure integrity. The three trainers work simultaneously, giving the public a unique opportunity to compare starting methods and contestants are judged by a respected panel of Equestrians.
EQUITANA Sydney also provides a fantastic range of Family Entertainment. Activities during the day include special demonstrations of Bison Campdrafting, professional trick riding, the fantastic “Double Dans”, riding displays by the Light Horse Skilled Arms Team and the N.S.W. Mounted Police and exquisite Miniature Horses, who perform their workout, then go over jumps nearly as high as they are!
The Exhibition is a core element of the event and offers the largest ever equine shopper’s paradise seen in Australia. With 15,000 square meters of air conditioned retail stands, you can buy everything from a wide range of specific horse equipment, health and training products, through to boots and fashion wear, jewellery and even state of the art farm equipment.
