Founder of Natural Horsemanship Helps Explain Competition from the Horse’s Point of View
PAGOSA SPRINGS, CO (Sept. 13, 2010) – Pat Parelli, the world’s preeminent equine behaviorist and founder of Parelli™ Natural Horsemanship, the # 1 equine training program in the world, will offer an inside look at his craft during the 2010 World Equestrian Games. Internationally renowned for his ability to efficiently solve even the most serious behavioral problems using equine psychology, the Colorado horseman, teacher and equine behaviorist of the 1984 Olympics is one of a select few who can provide insight from the horse’s perspective. While many viewers, commentators and fellow competitors will focus on those competing in the Games, Pat will give a voice to the talented horses that carry their riders to victory. With an astute ability to ‘train the trainer’ on how a horse communicates and interacts in a natural herd setting, Parelli offers the tools needed to build trust, partnership and understanding of horses as well as the skills necessary for all participating in the 2010 World Equestrian Games. From lead changes to trailer loading and issues like biting to bolting, Pat Parelli teaches humans to understand the natural needs and responses of a horse. With a mission to repair broken “horse-human” relationships, the Parelli method empowers both the rider and horse to continue on a positive path with each other. Elliott Walden, vice president and racing manager at WinStar Farm, along with several of WinStar’s famed Throughbreds have worked closely with Pat Parelli since 2002. “He truly understands and relates to the mind of a horse and gives them confidence, naturally,” said Walden. “Parelli’s principles have a positive impact on any horse, whether they are on the farm or on the racetrack.” See a true equine behaviorist at work during the 2010 World Equestrian Games (Sept. 25 – Oct. 10), where Pat Parelli will hold daily demonstrations at the Equine Village.
