Working With Passionate People

Dear Friends,

Gosh Pagosa is beautiful in the winter, and given the unusually cold winter in Ocala, it actually felt warmer! There’s a lot of snow, up to the top rail of the buck fences on the ranch, and it’s been sunny every day – just gorgeous. We’re here for a week to touch base with our team at headquarters and focus on plans for the future – very exciting, but I can’t tell you anything yet!

The energy here is so wonderful; I wish you could feel it, too. I know sometimes it’s hard to stay positive when life or weather gets in the way of your horsemanship, but if you could just plug into some of this spirit I think it would help. We’re dedicated to making the world a better place for horses and humans through inspiration, education and empowerment, and waking up every day with this mission at the forefront of our minds is an incredible feeling. Same for the team here in the office – this is not just a job. Working with passionate people is addictive, it spoils you for anything less than that.

We head back to Florida on Saturday. I miss Remmer, Allure and Vinny. Just before we left I had made another big breakthrough with Remmer, finding a new level of engagement and enthusiasm for our Finesse-dressage pursuits. He’s now been hanging out with Allure in the pasture for 10 days, so we’ll have to take it easy for a couple of days. Even though I’ve been rehearsing in my head every day, it’s important to make sure Remmer is fit enough and in the mood before I expect him to be where he was the last day we rode together.
