We just finished the Instructor Courses here in Florida on Monday. What a great week! Of course, there was a lot to cover, much to do on many different subjects but the most important thing was getting everyone aligned on the Parelli vision to change the world for horses and humans by inspiring, empowering and educating through natural horsemanship. We’re thrilled to be introducing dedicated new 1-Star and now 2-Star instructors to support our students!
I think there were about 80 in attendance for the training this last week. They came from all over the world, and about half of them represented current Externs and Mastery Students who are spending extended education time with Pat and his team. From my perspective, the most exciting part is that when I look into the group as I’m teaching, I can see the future. I know where this is going and how many more people we’re going to help achieve their dreams with horses.
For Pat, this has been his vision for a long, long time and something I suggested to him back in 1990! At that time, I was training my successors at Ella Bache and I saw the need for Pat to have the same kind of help for the future. Our first instructor training was in 1993 and over the ensuing years we felt the effect of their loyalty and alignment with our mission. For the past six years, things were quiet on the instructor development front, but now we’re back in full swing. We are clear on our vision, mission and goals and instructors are an important part of it all. It’s exciting to be reaching this next stage of Parelli’s development and it’s so important. At this time only about 5% horse lovers are using natural methods to train their horses…there’s a lot to do!
