Dear Friends,
As you may know, another one-week Instructor Course started today in Florida! We’ve been working hard on the curriculum and schedule for the course, and this time we’re running two Instructor courses concurrently: 1-Star and 2-Star. There will be some shared sessions such as on teaching strategies, simulations, student goals and pacing…and then we branch off into more specific subjects for each of them. I will be more involved in running segments of the 2-Star course because now we’re talking riding – fluidity, patterns, setting it up for success, preparation, overcoming fear, etc. etc – while Pat will focus more on getting the 1-Stars off on the right foot. It’s so important for everyone to know that the vision is to change the world for horses and humans together, as a team, and therefore, what each of our roles are.
Then we have a whole day at the end dedicated to understanding saddle issues and how to make horses and riders more comfortable using the Parelli Saddle System. We’ll be delving into reading the horse’s muscles, locomotion and biomechanics as well as rider posture. It’s important that instructors are knowledgeable about these elements because a saddle that hurts can have such a negative impact on a horse’s behavior and rider’s results…as many of our students know!
Stay tuned for more updates from the Instructor Course soon!
Yours Naturally,
Linda
