Dedication

Dear Friends,

One of the most enjoyable parts of what Pat and I do is being surrounded by dedicated students all over the world. Whether it’s at the Centers, at our events or even watching all those Auditions that are being sent in, the feeling is incredible. To us, dedication is the most powerful tool for success and growth a person can have. It’s easy to give up as soon as you feel uncomfortable, and learning is uncomfortable for a lot of people, but dedication is what keeps people going through the un-fun parts. I don’t think dedication is something you can teach. It’s an attitude, and a person’s attitude is always up to them!

For Pat and I, dedication is measured by commitment, and when a student commits to achieving a level, even if it’s only Level 1, it says a lot about them to us. In fact, I have to smile when someone says in a humble way, “I’m only Level 1,” as if it’s nothing! For most people, achieving Level 1 means coming up three levels from where they were, sometimes more. I know that was me when I met Pat!

I think back to when we released the first Levels program in the early ‘90s and I remember how that divided people. There were those who LOVED the idea of having a concrete program to follow, a way to measure themselves and achieve goals, and then others who were angry about it. Here we are some 18 years later with thousands of students having achieved Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 (some have even attained Levels 5, 6 and 7!). The Levels encourage people to dedicate themselves, and that’s the most we can do. Once a person makes the choice to be dedicated, the information they need is available to them at whatever level they choose to be involved.

When Pat set out on a mission to change the world for horses and humans, I signed up without hesitation. I wanted to do whatever it took to help horses, to help people and to do something positive to raise the global level of savvy. That’s the highest level of involvement! Pat and I continue our work and our own dedication to popularize this method, and we recognize, too, that tens of thousands of our students are helping by being good examples, like a well finger on a sore hand. We appreciate each and every one of you. When you dedicate yourself to doing the best by your horse that you possibly can, you are helping to change the world.

Yours Naturally,
Linda
